Welcome to Travel.Run.Repeat! My name is Jill. I am an Ambassador for the Abbott World Marathon Majors. I became a Six Star Finisher after completing the 2018 Boston Marathon, which means I have run all the Abbott World Marathon Majors (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and the NYC Marathons). Only 4000 people in the world can say that!
I work full time in orthopedics, and treat sports related injuries. My two biggest passions are running and traveling. I love exploring the world by foot!
My blog is here to inform and inspire. I hope you find it helpful!

When traveling for a race, this is what I typically take with me. Read about each item in my blog post titled "Packing Up!".
Here are my must haves when traveling for a destination marathon. Read my explanation and more in my blog post titled "Flight Favorites".
This is what I typically use for marathon fueling. I prefer the Hammer Nutrition Nocciola flavor gel (tastes like Nutella!) and the peanut butter chocolate. Yumm!!! I like the Hammer Nutrition Electrolyte Fizz in my water bottle if I am carrying my own. And Hammer Nutrition Endurolytes. These are especially vital when the weather is warmer. You will need to replenish your electrolytes.
These are all easy to carry and pop in your mouth during a marathon. For ultramarathons I typically eat "real food" and use an Endurolyte mid race. I also use the Fizz in my hydration pack.

Typically after a race I like to "treat" myself to something like a fancy bath or a pedicure. These products by LUSH are my favorite and make me feel relaxed and pampered after a long race.
Ultrabalm: use for those parts that are chaffed. This is a non petroleum product has many uses. It can also be used as a moisturizer.
LUSH Bath Bomb & Bath Bubble. These 2 are a must for pampering!
LUSH Hottie massage bar. This massage bar smells amazing. It alsso has 12 little round knobs that help to massage your legs or any part as it's being applied. This is such a treat if you can find it. LUSH massage bars typically are fun, and you can't go wrong!
This is what I wore and took with me for my HAT 50k endurance race in March 2016. It was cold and rainy that day.
1. Always wear a buff for any ultramarathon!
2. Gloves are essential in the winter! You might need hand warmers depending on how cold it is. There's nothing worse than cold/wet hands during a race.
3. CEP compression socks. I like these because they provide an extra level of warmth, and they help with recovery. The dry out really fast in the event that your race has a water crossing.
4. Trail shoes.
5. Salomon S-Lab Hydro-Sense: Handheld. I prefer this if I don't carry my hydration vest.
6. Under Armour 3/4 zip shirt and long pants.
7. A Trucker Hat: a must for any ultrarunner
8. Salomon gaiters. Not all races require gaiters. If there are lots of little rocks or dirt, you should consider these.
9. Gin-Gins: a must for any ultramarathon
